H.R. Giger: The Sound of Surreality

Giger created his first album cover in 1969 for a group called Walpurgis. He subsequently went on to design album covers for numerous other bands. Giger's venture into music didn't stop at album covers, however. He went on to create the concept for and direct two music videos for Debbie Harry's (Blondie) solo debut, "Koo Koo". Most recently, Giger created a custom microphone stand for Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. Check out the Korn mic stand picture below from Maxim Magazine.

Rolling Stone Magazine chose two of Giger's covers to be in it's top 100 album covers of the century. The covers chosen were Debbie Harry's 1981 album Koo Koo, and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's 1973 sonic marvel Brain Salad Surgery.
